Hannah and Blake’s engagement session in historic downtown Franklin was so special! This was our first time ever shooting in the historic downtown area, and it definitely lived up to the hype. There were beautiful buildings and stunning scenery around every corner. But as awestruck as we were by all the perfectly preserved architecture, it was really this sweet couple who made the session so amazing!
Like so many of our A and B Brides, Hannah is a planner (and we love it!). She always wants to be prepared. Unfortunately for Blake, this makes her one of the most difficult people to surprise. But he was determined to keep his proposal plans a complete secret!
Hannah suspected he would be popping the question soon, so he had his work cut out for him. Blake knew she would think he would propose on a weekend, so he intentionally picked a Thursday so she would be less suspicious. He enlisted the help of their friends including a dear friend who is an artist. He asked her to paint a portrait of him getting down on one knee. Then he connected with a local art gallery in Franklin and asked if, for one day, they would hang the painting on their wall. When they agreed, the plan was in motion!
Blake told Hannah they could go out after work to check out a local gallery and grab a bite to eat. While perusing the artwork, Hannah noticed an interesting painting on the wall. When she walked over, she noted there was a note typed up and pinned next to it. She started to read the letter from Blake and realized the painting was of the two of them! The next thing she knew, Blake was down on one knee asking her to be his wife. She was shocked and elated! But the surprises didn’t end there…
Their friends had set up a romantic dinner for two back at Blake’s apartment with his sweet pup, Luna. The pair got to enjoy a little newly engaged bliss before heading to Hannah’s parents’ home for an engagement party with all their friends and family.
Hannah and Blake, we had the BEST time exploring downtown Franklin with you and Luna. Spending time with the two of you made us even more excited for your wedding this spring at Birchwood! Congratulations and enjoy every second of wedding planning 🙂
