Rustic California Barn Wedding

Erin and Trevor’s rustic barn wedding in California was a dream come true for this sweet couple! Even though they were forced to wait two whole years for this day, it turned out better than they could have ever imagined.

After their fully planned wedding was cancelled due to COVID restrictions last year, Erin and Trevor weren’t sure what to do. And, just when they thought matters couldn’t get any worse, their venue was forced to close permanently. That’s when a family friend swooped in and saved the day! The couple was connected to an incredible private property where they could start from scratch and plan their dream wedding.

From the beautiful ceremony location under the trees, to the incredible barn reception with mismatched china and silverware, we could not stop clicking our shutters all day! There were so many beautiful details and moments to capture.

One of our favorite things to capture on a wedding day is all the sweet, personal touches a couple adds to make the day their own. Erin and Trevor had so many personal details, from the pin Erin wore on her dress to honor her grandmother, to the homemade jams they gave to their guests. But our favorite surprise was the gift Erin gave to Trevor before their ceremony. Trevor’s two grandfathers have passed away. So, to honor them, Erin had a custom pin made with both of their photos. Trevor was so overcome with emotion when he opened this gift from his bride. It was the sweetest moment to witness.

Those were not the only tears shed on this day, though! Throughout the ceremony, there was not a dry eye in the garden. Everyone was so happy for Erin and Trevor! And the minute their grandfather (their officiant) pronounced them husband and wife, Erin and Trevor’s faces were filled with relief and joy.

They both will say that the last year was not easy. Planning and replanning their big day was challenging and heartbreaking. But now, they look back and are so grateful for how everything happened.
