Dusty Blue Winter Wedding

From the moment we met with Hannah and Kyle last summer, we knew their wedding day would be special. Not only because Hannah has AMAZING taste (we cannot get enough of her Cocomelody gown *heart eyes*), but also because these two have been waiting for this day since high school! Little did we know, their wedding day would become more and more special as the year went on and we watched this pair fight to make it possible.

You would never know upon arriving at Hannah’s parents’ home the morning of the wedding that all the plans for this day were not only the back-up, but the back-up to the back-up. Their original venue had to cancel due to COVID restrictions, as did their back-up venue just weeks before their date. So they decided to move everything to a private backyard. But when Beau and I arrived to shoot the details and bridesmaids’ getting ready portion of the day, you would never guess that they were having their 3rd choice wedding day. Everything felt like it was just how it should be—beautiful and so full of joy!

Hannah handed me the box filled with all of the details for the day…their invitation, rings…her perfume and earrings…Kyle’s new cufflinks. But the sweet and thoughtful details for the day didn’t stop there. Hannah had custom-made hangers for herself and each bridesmaid, as well as matching robes for them all to wear as they got ready together. The bride and groom also exchanged letters and gifts as they prepared to see each other for the first time on the biggest day of their lives. Kyle gave Hannah a bible with her new married name engraved on the cover, and she gave him a knife he had been admiring for a long time—two timeless treasures they will keep forever to remember this day.

As we captured each precious item that was carefully picked for this day, we were struck by the truth that this sweet couple was living out. It doesn’t matter where your wedding happens or if it doesn’t pan out how you pictured because you can make it uniquely and specially yours through all the intimate details you plan. It will be a beautiful day to celebrate your love and the lifelong commitment you want to make to each other no matter what.

We want to give a special ‘thank you’ shout-out to event coordinator Rochelle Hansen and the amazing creative team who made this event happen through every change of plan. From the beautiful florals by Petal and Fleur, to the stunningly delicious cake by Butterdish Bakery, to the elegant dusty blue details throughout, everything came together seamlessly.

Hannah and Kyle, we are so grateful you included us in your beautiful day! We hope you stayed warm and had a blast on your honeymoon in Tahoe, and that you enjoy reliving these special memories together in your new home 🙂 Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Hardin!
