Intimate Thousand Oaks Wedding

It all came down to this moment. Andrew was finally going to see his beautiful bride for the first time! He held his breath as she walked up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around and tears filled his eyes. She is everything he ever wanted and more, looking absolutely stunning in her wedding gown. Their best friends cheered from the balconies overhead as they embraced for the first time on their wedding day. This is a moment they will never forget!

The first look is one of our favorite moments during a wedding day. It is a moment that we chose to forgo at our own wedding, and we regret it every time we get to witness our couples sharing it. But as much as we love capturing all of our couples’ first looks, Emilia and Andrew’s was something special. The raw and honest emotion on Andrew’s face when he turned around and saw his bride brought tears to all of our eyes. I had to take a step back for a second to catch my breath and just watch these two soak it up! They were so excited to be getting married, and their joy was written all over their faces.

Just a couple of months ago, all the plans were set. Emilia and Andrew would be getting married on June 19th at a beautiful park in Thousand Oaks. The pair was so excited to say their vows and begin their life together surrounded by all their friends and family in a beautiful setting. But just a few weeks ago, because the coronavirus shut the parks department down, they were forced to find an alternative option.

That’s when the Thousand Oaks Inn stepped in and offered them a location to have an intimate ceremony, completely COVID approved! And then we secured a private residence in Lake Sherwood for Emilia to get ready with her bridesmaids, and for the couple to share their first look and Bride and Groom photos lakeside before the ceremony.

Just when it seemed like it wasn’t going to work out for them to have the wedding day they had hoped for, everything fell right into place. June 19th was the perfect wedding day.

Emilia and Andrew, thank you for letting us be a part of the most special day of your lives. It was truly an honor to walk alongside you through your engagement season. With all the changing plans and last minute details, you both just stayed focus on the most important thing: getting married no matter what! We cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for you as you begin this new journey as husband and wife!
