Chambers Bay Anniversary Session

It all began in the coffee shop on the campus of Azusa Pacific University almost 5 years ago…Katie was working there and Kurt was a frequent customer. He often sat at one of the little coffee tables for hours, finding random reasons to talk to Katie. Kurt finally got up the nerve to ask Katie out, and a year later, he popped the question in the picturesque gardens of the Huntington Library. The two were married in September of 2016, just 2 months after us! Now, after almost 3 years of marriage, the pair is embarking on a brand new adventure. They are moving from Washington to Texas to follow the Lord’s calling into ministry. And we could not be more excited for them! (yes, we are already planning our trip out there to visit!)

One of our greatest joys as photographers is capturing memories for our own families. Kurt, Beau’s brother, and our sister-in-law, Katie, wanted to document their final week living in Tacoma before their big move to Austin. Getting married so close together has become one of the biggest blessings in our lives. We have been able to walk through many of the the ups and downs that marriage can bring together. Often when Kurt and Katie felt without direction or uncertain of where God was leading them next, so did we. And it was so comforting to know we were not the only ones confronting somewhat difficult seasons of transition and frustration.

But now we get to celebrate with them as they enter an exciting new season! Kurt and Katie, the Lord is going to do amazing work through you and your marriage in Austin. We cannot wait to visit you guys in your new home and watch His plan unfold for your lives! Thank you for letting us capture your memories of your time in Washington as you look ahead to this next season in Texas. We love you both dearly!
